When I was first promoted into a manager role, I was on top of the world. But when I got my first 360 performance feedback a year later, I was devastated. I had several blind spots and a ton to learn. But like most skills, leadership can be developed. And great leadership is far more a function of self-awareness, humility, openness, and a desire to learn than the result of innate skills from birth.
